There are all kinds of people in the Bible, just as there are all kinds of people in the world that we live in. The majority of the people that are named in the Bible are people that we would consider people of faith, that is men and women of God. They are people that we would like to learn from on how to live with and for God. However, there are also people in the Bible that we should consider examples for us not to follow. They are people that we should learn from on how we are not to live. One such person is Balaam, and we will look at his life and learn of the way that we should not go.
聖書には色々な人間が登場しますが、それは私達が生きている世界にも色々な人間がいるのと同じです。聖書に登場する名が述べられている人々の大半は、信仰の人々であり、つまり神の男と女です。彼らは、神様と共に、神様のために生きる方法について、私達が見習いたい人達です。しかし、聖書の中には、私達が模範とすべきではない人達もいます。彼らは、私達がどのように生きてはいけないかということを、学ぶべき人々なのです。そのような人物の一人がバラムであり、彼の人生を見て、歩むべきでない道を学びます。
