“Solomon: Learning to Fear the Lord”

For this message, we will be looking at Solomon, the third king of Israel, who was the tenth son of King David and whose mother was Bathsheba. Like his father David, Solomon was a passionate man. When we examine Solomon’s life, we can see that he magnified both the good and bad aspects of his father David’s life. However, most importantly, when we talk about Solomon, we cannot help but talk about his God-given wisdom. And, in spite of his unfaithfulness toward God when he was old, he left behind for us words of wisdom. The number one thing Solomon left behind for us to consider is: The Fear of the Lord our God.
今回のメッセージでは、ダビデ王の十番目の息子で、バテシバを母に持つソロモン（イスラエルの第三代王）を取り上げます。父ダビデと同様、ソロモンも情熱的な男でした。ソロモンの生涯を調べてみると、彼は父ダビデの人生の良い面も悪い面も拡大解釈していたことがわかります。しかし、最も重要なことは、ソロモンについて語るとき、彼の神様から与えられた知恵について語らずにはいられません。そして、年老いてから神に対して不真実であったにもかかわらず、知恵の言葉を私たちに残されました。そして、ソロモンが私たちが考慮するために残した第一のものは、私たちの神である主を恐れることです。
