Sermon Description:
The author of Psalm 131 humbles himself before God. The author understands that we do not know all, and we do not have control over all things. God knows all, and is sovereign. The imagery and posture before God is one of a child contentedly and peacefully resting in arms of a mother. There may be a struggle there too. There is a difference between those still receiving nourishment from the mother, and no longer receiving it anymore. But this contentedness and peacefulness is not just being there to receive something from her such as nourishment, but receiving the love, the kind caress, comfort, and nurture a mother offers. God's care and nurture relates to that of a mother.
