Series Description: All authority is given to Jesus. He is our Lord. The Book of Hebrews goes into detail regarding Jesus' superiority over all things. HE is greater than all, and we need to affirm and live out this reality as His disciples.
Sermon Description: The whole section of Hebrews we are currently studying began with a warning to mature into understanding the meatier things found in Scripture. These things are like that of understanding who Melchizedek is and how he relates to Jesus. From Hebrews 5:1-10, we have already read of how Jesus was called and designated by God to be a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. In chapter 7 of Hebrews, the author goes into a full discussion on the superiority of the priestly order of Melchizedek in comparison to the Levitical priesthood. With Melchizedek and Jesus, they had no physical limitations for they had no end to their life; they had the power of an indestructible life, and thus Jesus is able to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
